The art department at Tapton thrives on challenge and creativity. The range of materials and methods employed across the key stages results in vibrant, edgy and skilled work, often awesome in scale. The exam results are correspondingly impressive, matching any in the city and regularly at the highest levels in the country. (7 students in the top 5% at A level in the last 4 years) Our GCSE results in the department have risen steadily to 95% A-C and 50% A –A*. Our pupils tell us that art gives them the opportunity to make their own designs, to learn new and exciting skills and to express their ideas and feelings. The art department takes a full part in school life leading activities on cross curricular day, partaking in the Sheffield Childrens' Festival, running after school clubs and skill boosters, and supporting drama and music events.
