Key Stage 4
Subject Leader Ms J M Bows
|
The Key stage 4 curriculum aims to give all pupils an opportunity to build a set of skills at the start of the course which they can then use at will in future project work. Workshops (listed below) give pupils an experience of a diverse range of methods which give them freedom for expression in later projects.
The projects in Key stage 4 allow for a completely individual interpretation and are managed to a strict time frame to help pupils prepare for the exam at the end of the course.
|
Pupils need to submit a minimum of two projects and the exam at the end of the course. The exam is a practical piece which must be completed in school within a timed period (10hrs). The preparation time allowed for this task is four weeks.
We run two trips in year 10 to gather inspiration and reference material. In the winter term we visit London to see the National Galley and the Victoria & Albert Museum. In the Summer term we go to Yorkshire Sculpture Park at West Bretton.
