Media Mania!

As we entered 106 we thought it would be a challenge to get a word out of any of the participants as they were engrossed in deep thought. All were focused on competing at the highest level for their advertising competition. The aim of this media project is to expand on the skills most y8's have already been learning throughout the year. The ingredients for the madness are: Three teams! Three products! And big ideas!

As Mr Criticos was hyping up his team, telling them to think “outside the box”, students were encouraged to voice very original and unusual ideas. Each of the teams were being secretive about their adverts, sixth formers were even being used as spies by some staff members!

They were given a fake budget to adhere to, and children were encouraged to find the most cost-effective way to achieve a stunning product.

Everyone was allocated their own task, to achieve the goal in quicker time. They were thinking about actors, music, props, shots and voice overs.

The activity came to an end with “The Tapton Advertising Oscars”.

In the most professional clutch of adverts Miss Boulter had seen, the most outstanding advert was for the rocket with it's catchy slogan “Rock it – bang and it's gone” and it's colourful backgrounds.
