It IS Rocket Science!
Cross curricular went off with a big bang! From wearing 3D glasses in astronomy, to setting off water fuelled rockets, science has never been more fun. In astronomy slide shows were presented to the students in which they discovered thousands of millions of stars make up a galaxy, thousands of light years away!
In rocket science, the year 8's watched a rocket display before making their own, made of tubes, card and celotape.
The water fuelled rockets seemed to be the most successful with some landing on the roof of the sports hall, after taking off from the field.

BLAST OFF!
Year 8 students were trying to explore other planets this morning as their captain Mr Beadman showed the way with his explosive demonstration. The weather was not on their side but the determined explorers carried on through the torrential down pour.
No one would have realise that some water, an empty bottle and a pump could make such an impact on the 15 or so students involved.
Mission accomplished as bottles and water was flying everywhere. However some members of the Tapton cadets were not pleased as they saw their rockets crash land in the black hole of the Tapton woods.
