| Music of Asia
In Room 118 the Year 9's seemed to be enjoying the Asian music link. They were sitting in a large circle with Mr Bellfield and Ms Northern playing Asian instruments. The instruments consisted of bongo drums, xylophones and others we couldn't identify! The students were split into groups and had to play different rhythms to a selected beat. Loud crashy pieces of music were contrasted with tuneful melodic pieces. They were encouraged to play a beat to a piece from a film, which sounded like a very professional film score. Their main objective was to discover Asian music and the main instruments used throughout Asia , and how it could be used to display emotions. Tapton's musical reputation was being further enhanced by these performances today. By Rob & George |
