How are students identified at Tapton?
The criteria used to identify Tapton G&T students are the same criteria used to determine eligibility for membership of Young Gifted and Talented (YG&T) which is the new national programme for gifted and talented education in England. Launched in September 2007, the programme is design to help young people realise their ambitions by giving them access to exciting activities from online courses and discussion forums to local classes, seminars and summer schools held nationwide. It is run by CfBT Education Trust on behalf of the Department for Children, Schools and Families (DCSF). Until 1st September 2007 YG&T was known as the National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth (NAGTY). The criteria used to identify students for this national progamme are as follows
