PLEASE HAND YOUR OLD MOBILES & CARTRIDGES TO THE
GREEN TEAM STALL AT THE AUTUMN FAIR

The Green Team are holding a stall at the autumn fair and need your support for a project we are involved in. We are collecting old and unwanted mobile phones to recycle, along with emplty ink cartridges. The phones do not have to be in working order! They will benefit third world countries who do not have access to land line phones and therefore have limited means of communication. Every phone that is donated will be a huge help, plus money will be raised for Tapton in the process.

WHO WE ARE?

We are a group of people who meet, discuss and take action to make Tapton a more environmentally friendly school by saving energy and recycling.

WHAT HAVE WE DONE?

Already we have introduced the paper recycling scheme. There is so much more that we can do but we need support. We are trying to raise awareness of the issues so as many people in the school can know what is going on and can help. We have recently ordered 30 trees which have been planted in the school grounds.

WHAT DO WE PLAN TO DO?

Our next plan is to do mobile phone and ink cartridge recycling. If you have old mobile phones that you don't use, bring them in to be put to good use. They are collected and given to people in developing countries, and we get some money to fund future green initiatives. We are also thinking about plastic recycling and we will continue the paper recycling, as so much that could be recycled, gets thrown away every day.

WANT TO FIND OUT MORE?

If you want to help, come along to 211 on a Wednesday lunchtime at 12.45pm or ask Miss Hollinger (Geography) or Dr Smith (Science) for further information. Keep your eye on the notice board in the foyer and this website for further details.
