Design and Technology

"Designing and making requires much greater effort than the pure analysis required for Maths, Science or Literacy." - S. Brays.  Brunel University.

Ideas into Reality!

iPads, Dyson vacuum cleaners or the London Underground map......... started as an idea.  DT turns those thoughts into products that give us the quality of life we have today.  Our aim is to nurture that creativity and develop the skills necessary to produce the products that satisfy our needs and passions and to hatch tomorrow's designers.  DT is an extremely popular option choice for GCSE, nationally and here at Tapton.

There are two directions that DT can take you in:

  • Engineering (electronic, structural and mechanical products)
  • Product Design (wood, metal and plastic products)
