Drama

“I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being.”
Oscar Wilde

Our Drama curriculum is taught at all Key Stages with a clear focus on a variety of Drama skills and techniques that develop students’ understanding and awareness of the art of theatre. As a department we also embrace the life skills that Drama brings to our different cohorts with a big focus on developing confidence and team working skills. Many students opt to take Drama beyond Key Stage 3 because they see it as an opportunity to develop their confidence in a safe environment as well an outlet for their passion for the subject.

We have two thriving theatre companies at Tapton; one designated for lower school and one for upper school. In addition to these theatre companies that run throughout the year we also team up with our Music, Art and Dance departments to produce our annual school productions.
