Life after Tapton Sixth Form
We start to support students with the process of applying for Higher Education at the end of Year 12. We will hold meetings for parents to inform them of the process. There will be one for those making a Competitive Admission (Oxbridge, medicine, Dentistry and Veterinary) and one with more general information, outlining the application process and Student Finance.
We are fortunate to have a ‘bank’ of professionals who support our students through the application process. When a student receives an interview from a University, we ask someone with experience in the subject area to offer students a trial interview before the real thing. We have found that many students have not experienced an interview before and so this is a unique opportunity for them to get used to the questions they may be asked, and receive feedback on their performance.
Some of our students choose to join the world of work and others have pursed their chosen career through Apprenticeship schemes. We are always keen to support students in whatever their chosen path, and will work hard with them to achieve their goals.
Each year we celebrate our student’s successes at our Certificate Evening. This is a wonderful opportunity for us all to get together again, and hear about what students have been up to.
