RE at Tapton is an important and successful subject. All colleagues in the department are highly qualified specialists who are passionate about their subject. The teaching style is active with an emphasis on demonstrating the relevance of programmes of study to pupils' own lives.
While RE is an academic discipline in it's own right, as is reflected by consistently high exam results, much emphasis is also placed on pupils' personal development, helping them to understand the world they live in and their own place in that world.
Lessons are equally accessible to pupils of any faith or non and success in the subject is dependant on ability to understand, analyse and evaluate, rather than on personal conviction.
