Comments from recent beginner teachers
"I believe that the School Direct route has helped me to accelerate the progress I have made. The amount of 'hands on' time you get in school really does benefit you and although it is hard work, the benefits are well worth it. The support you get from and the relationships you develop with staff are invaluable."
‘I would advise all beginner teachers to immerse themselves fully within school life; it helps provide you with all the building blocks to enable you to become an outstanding teacher.'
‘The experience you will gain from teaching within a real school environment is second-to-none. From the growth in your subject knowledge, the improved management of your time, to the confidence you will gain from speaking to large groups and challenging individuals; all aspects of this experience will assist you in not only becoming a better teacher, but a more rounded individual.’
"I felt extremely welcomed by the staff and I was given all the information I needed… I felt like I could try anything and they would have supported me."
