Key Guidance for A Level, AS Level and GCSE students 25/03/2020 - please see attached PDF for Key Sixth Form Guidance

Following the cancellation of the A Level, AS Level and GCSE Exams students will now be allocated Calculated Grades.

The Calculated Grade process will be based on a range of evidence which could include, prior attainment (KS2 Data, GCSEs and, maybe, AS levels), Non-Examined Assessments (NEAs), Trial Exam Results and Teacher Assessment. This process is yet to be finalised.

However, for KS5 UCAS Predicted Grades will not be used. Trial Exam Results will not be the only piece of evidence used and Tapton’s consistent past performance at KS4 and KS5 is likely to be taken into account.

The expectation is that calculated grades will be released in August.

Following the allocation of calculated grades, there will be an appeal process for students who wish to query their calculated grades. Any appeal is likely to involve an assessment in September.

Please note that this is an emerging situation, as soon as we receive further clarification we will share information via the school website.

We do ask that you do not contact individual teachers to query the process. All of our actions will be in line with the process provided by the Department for Education.

It is our strong recommendation that all students should retain their notes, resources and assessed work.
