Exams
The Exams Office manages all external exams including A-level, AS-level and GCSE, together with the PPE weeks for years 10, 11, 12 and 13. We are located on the first floor next to the library and students are welcome to call in at any time for help with exam queries. We can also be contacted via examsoffice@taptonschool.co.uk.

Exam Results
The results of summer 2024 examinations will be released on the following dates:
A & AS Level: Thursday 13th August 2026
GCSE: Thursday 20th August 2026
Exam Certificates
Certificates are issued by the relevant exam board and are legal proof of a qualification. Schools are required to retain certificates for a period of 12 months after they are issued, however we endeavour to retain uncollected certificates for a minimum of 3 years.
Summer 2025 GCSE and A Level certificates
As mentioned on the exam results slips issued in August, our A-level and GCSE certificate collection evening will take place on Thursday 18th December beginning at 4pm. To assist in managing the number of visitors on site at any one time, time slots have been allocated based on the student’s month of birth. If a student is unable to attend in person and would like someone else to collect certificates on their behalf, they must provide the person collecting with a signed letter authorising us to release the certificates to that named individual. Authorisation letters must be signed by hand: emails and e-signatures are not acceptable. Whoever is collecting the certificates must bring photographic ID with them (even the student themselves).

It is vital that certificates are collected as they are legal proof of qualifications held and may be requested by academic institutions and future employers. Where it is not possible for certificates to be collected on the evening of Thursday 18th December, they may, on request, be made available from Tuesday 6th January onwards during normal school opening hours. Any such request should be submitted to examsoffice@taptonschool.co.uk, as should any enquiries regarding certificates from previous years.
Students who are on roll at Tapton Sixth Form should already be in receipt of their certificates so should not attend the collection evening.
Invigilation
Exams at Tapton are supervised by our invigilation team who have a key role in enabling students to demonstrate their abilities and upholding the integrity of the exams process.
