Safeguarding

At Tapton we fully recognise the contribution we can make to protect children and young people, and support them in school.

Legislation places safeguarding responsibilities on all school staff, and we regularly undertake training.

There are 3 main elements to our safeguarding policy:

  • Prevention
  • Protection
  • Support to students and staff.

All of our safeguarding policies comply with Keeping Children Safe in Education.

We engage with a School Police Liaison Officer to promote the principles of positive citizenship, in school and the wider community. Students have opportunities to enhance their knowledge, attitudes and skills regarding:

  • Substance Education
  • Anti-Social Behaviour
  • Personal Safety

We regularly produce a Safeguarding Newsletter with useful information and links. These can be found on the Letters page of the website.
